Abbey caravan VIN number and year
Abbey caravans carry Swift's maker code, so a Abbey VIN starts SGD. The tenth character is the model year. Enter the VIN and this page reads the year, or look the character up in the table below. The check names the maker as Swift, because that is who the code is registered to.

SGD is registered to Swift, and Swift, Sprite and Ace caravans carry it too. A VIN that starts SGD could be any of the 4, and the code does not say which. The name on the caravan and its paperwork will.
The maker codes are the ones published in the Caravan and Motorhome Club's caravan identification guide. The year position is not taken from a guide: we checked the tenth character against SGD caravans whose year was stated separately. Some guides label the thirteenth character as the year. On a VIN that starts SGD that character is part of the serial number or a model code, and reading it gives a wrong year.
